Meatball Sub Sandwich

February 23- For my first blog post I want to show my readers one of my favorite dishes. The meatball sub. This recipe is very cheap and not very difficult to make. The first thing I do is wash my hands. Next, you will need a half or full pound of beef(depending on how hungry you and your guests are). Crack an egg and mix it in with the beef. After the egg is mixed, add garlic powder and french onion. This will help form the meatballs. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. While the oven preheats, lightly cover the meatballs in marinara sauce. The meatballs will take about 20-30 minutes.

Leave the oven on and cut hoagie rolls in half. Lay a piece of mozzarella cheese on every other half of the roll. This will make the cheese melt and crisp the bread to perfection. The rolls will be ready to come out of the oven after 4 minutes. After the meatballs cool down add more marinara as you like. The last step is to put it all together. You will be able to fit between 3-5 meatballs depending on the size of meatballs and rolls. Cut it vertically down the middle and you have just created your own meatball sub!

Now that is a spicy meatball!

-Ingredients list-

1/2 lb of beef

1 egg

1 jar of marinara

1 pack hoagie rolls

Mozzarella cheese

Home Made Rice Crispy Treats

Rice crispy treats are one of my favorite snacks. They are cheap, easy and super fun to make. Consider adding your own modification like a chocolate or caramel topping. I would love to see pictures of your creations! Send them via email to be featured on my blog. To make these tasty treats you will need:

7 cups of rice crispy cereal

4 cups of marshmallows

1/2 cup of butter

These ingredients will cost below $5. The only things that you need to make rice crispies are a nonstick pot, a cooling tray and something to stir with. First melt the butter and marshmallow together in the nonstick pot and mix. This mixture consistency should be kind of runny but not a liquid. Once butter and marshmallows are incorporated add rice crispy cereal. Add about 4 cups and stir until it is mixed in well, then add the rest and stir well. Get the cooling tray ready by lining it with parchment paper or cooking spray. Pour the cereal mix from the pot into the tray. Let stand for at least fifteen minutes, then cut into squares or shapes and serve.
